Jubileu Plus Noir – Dark Chocolate with Salt Flower


Our Portuguese producer Jubileu takes up a notch this commonly known sweet and salty combination of chocolate and salt by adding salt flower for a more subtle experience.

Some love it, some hate it but all culinary experts agree that a touch of salt can make any sweet dish that much better. Why is that so? Well, the secret is that salt reduces the bitterness of everything it is added to, and therefore, in small concentrations, it exacerbates the sweet flavor. You may also ask yourself, what exactly is a salt flower? Flower here doesn’t pretend to an actual plant but instead this salt it owes this descriptive name to the thin, delicate crust the salt is forming on the surface of the seawater as it evaporates.


Ingredients: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, concentrated butter, salt flower (0,3%), emulsifier (soy lecithin), flavouring (vanilla).

Nutrition facts per 100g: Energy value – 2431 kJ/ 587 kcal; Fat – 45 g, of which saturates – 28 g; Carbohydrates – 31 g, of which sugars – 26 g; Fiber – 11 g; Protein – 10 g; Salt – 0,02 g.

Minimum cocoa solids content: 70%. May contain traces of peanuts, nuts, and gluten.

Keep in a cool and dry place at 15 – 18 ºC. Made in Portugal.
